Vice President, Enterprise Sales ,

Penton is seeking a Vice President, Enterprise Sales to join our team in the New York or Chicago office.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Works to meet revenue targets by increasing revenue spend per customer, and by identifying, developing and closing new sales opportunities.
  • Builds and maintains effective long-term relationships and a high level of satisfaction with key senior-level decision makers and influencers of Penton’s major customer accounts that cross multiple market sectors.
  • Conducts regular status and strategy meetings with the client’s senior management to understand their needs and link them to the organization's strategies.
  • Drives thought leadership on how to align the power of Penton’s assets with the specific business objectives of key clients.
  • Works with senior management at Penton to develop new product offerings.
  • Conducts research on prospective clients, to find out what their needs and objectives are.
  • Ensures that solutions are balanced across brands and media types.
  • Exercises judgment as far as when customization is or is not required for a client solution.
  • Manages multiple channel selling strategies.
  • Supervises cross company digital and print RFP preparation.
  • Manages marketing partnerships and rep agreements.
Job Qualifications:
  • 10+ years experience in a client solutions, sales development, sales marketing, or business development role within a major media business to business marketer or advertising agency.
  • A proven track record in seeking and developing new business, as well as strategically developing ideas to gain significant revenue opportunities through partnerships, sponsorships or licensing arrangements.
  • A solid understanding of Company’s market: products, players, technologies, and a strong rolodex of contacts in applicable markets.
  • Experience in complex, consultative sales environments with Fortune 500 prospects in a national market.
  • Cross-platform sales experience.
  • Exceptional marketing and communications skill sets including written and verbal, including presentation skills.
  • Problem analysis and problem resolution at both a strategic and functional level.
  • Technical skills in strategic planning and sales planning.
  • Experience in a leadership role in presentations and proposals are desired.
  • Relationships at both the client and agency level.
  • An ability to think ahead and plan over a 1-2 year time span.
  • The ability to organize and manage multiple priorities.
  • Computer proficiency.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Sales and Marketing or related field.
