Penton is seeking a Head of Digital Product Development to join the Digital team in the New York office. In this key leadership role, the individual will have strategic and organizational oversight for the company’s Digital Media business. This person will direct the development and implementation of all new digital media products as well as operation efforts to support existing platforms.

Roles and Responsibilities:
  • Work with product managers to evaluate and implement platform improvements in key areas required for success.  
  • Evaluate business plans and strategies with market leaders, providing technology recommendations, resource requirements and timelines for implementation of digital product solutions.
  • Identify and develop plans for implementing new digital products.
  • Assess and prioritize opportunities to capitalize on growth and productivity from new applications, platforms, capabilities, or revenue models.
  • Assess, recommend, and implement process improvements that enable the company to identify and respond to industry opportunities and challenges.
  • Evaluate and enhance online marketing, e-mail marketing, and audience development capabilities. 
  • Ensure that the marketing team optimizes SEO, SEM and other ROI based marketing tools that emerge via the Internet.
  • Provide leadership to the Digital Media team.
 
Position Qualifications:
 
  • Extensive experience conceiving, building and deploying Digital Media and/or e-commerce products. 
  • Up-to-date knowledge of web 2.0 publishing, marketing and community models with hands-on experience implementing these effectively in a consumer, “prosumer”, or b2b focused business.
  • Demonstrated ability to partner with front line managers. 
  • Effective team management skills and an ability to collaborate between diverse corporate management teams to drive results.
  • Strong strategic and analytical problem-solving and operation management skills.
  • Excellent written, oral, presentation and listening skills.
  • Bachelors degree with strong preference for advanced degree.
