American Machinist and Welding Design & Fabrication Shift Focus to Online Only
CLEVELAND, OH (January 06, 2010) - Penton Media’s Manufacturing & Supply Chain group today announced that American Machinist and Welding Design & Fabrication will continue their long standing tradition of serving the metal working and welding communities through enhanced digital only properties.
Under the direction of Publisher Ron Lowy and General Manager Michael Madej, the AM and WD&F websites will be refocused and will enhance their online product offering for the metal working and welding communities.
The AM site will continue to serve the market with tools such as calculators, video, and the most relevant content available through e-newsletters, on the website, and through RSS feeds. Plans for the future of AmericanMachinist.com include a new emphasis on product introductions, as well as increased participation by thought leaders, vendors and suppliers throughout the industry. WD&F will continue to grow its WeldingWeb forum, the world’s largest online discussion place for welders. Likewise, WD&F’s video offerings, directory, and other online tools will be maintained and improved.
“The variety and depth of opportunities available to engage manufacturing professionals online will not only continue but will be expanded and improved over the next year and into the future. We believe our transition to online delivery of information for these two brands is a necessary change to best meet the needs of this industry. We are excited about the opportunity to focus our efforts online and trust our readers will look forward to the enhanced online features and solutions we will be launching in the near future to better support their operations,” said John DiPaola, vice president of Penton’s Manufacturing and Supply Chain group.
